i don’t have one but my aunt has a very meaningful one.
she has a big cross. it is representing her mother who died. she then has a rose on a dead vine to represent her husband who brang her back to life or something. then she has two other flowers or butterflies for her 2 kids.

I’ve got a number but my most recent is a (very large) koi on my back with some Kanji (Japanese writing) that says "Nothing changes if nothing changes". The koi represents (among other things) the struggle to over come challenges.

A koi swimming upstream (or facing up – what I have) represents the ongoing struggle to overcome a challenge (typically paired with cherry blossoms although I have bamboo instead) and a koi swimming down stream represents a challenge that has been overcome (typically paired with maple leaves).

Koi are also good luck charms, especially in the area of money and are seen as signs of masculine virtue (strength, stoic behavior, not sexual in nature).

The story goes that a koi decided to climb a mountain and after swimming upstream (up the Yellow River in China of all places)over a number of waterfalls, reached the summit and jumped over the last gate, the dragon gate, and was rewarded by being turned into a dragon. you will see koi paired with dragons commonly as well.

My first tattoo is byfar my favorite and represents alot of things. I originally wanted to get lyrics.."What I have in my heart I’ll take to my grave." Instead I got a heart with wings on my arm to represent that. The heart with wings my dad also go in the same place as his first tattoo and since my dad is like everything to me I always thought his tattoo was cool and it was just one more reason to get it. Anyway it means alot to me and Im very happy with it. So make sure you think it through before you come up with an idea.

My best friend from high school and I got matching rosebud tattoos so that even after we went our separate ways in our lives we would always remember each other. That was 20 years ago, and we’re glad we did. I left the state, had three kids and did the SAHM thing, she did the DINK route and went on to a corporate career. We have little in common but good memories and our tattoos, I haven’t seen her for over a decade.

I have a heart with my husband’s name in it, with a vine around it to show how we grow together. That one’s 19 years old.

I also have a dragon-horse on my back, it’s my symbol (like a family crest, but more personal). It represents many things to me, it took me ten years to decide on and design. It is my love for animals, my love for fantasy and the fantastic, it represents my independence and creativeness, and my readiness to "take wing" and begin a career after eighteen years of SAHMness.

My husband has a family of hummingbirds on his shoulder that represent our family.

    OK wow here we go
I have my daughters name on my inner right wrist
her middle name on my inner left wrist
a skull with a human heart on my inner for arm that started my sleeve (this means I think with my heart and I wear my heart on my sleeve)
a heart with razor blades slicing it on my outer arm (this was a bad time of my life with drugs and that’s how i felt)
a fairy on my left shoulder (that was for my best friend that died)
tear drops on both inner lower index fingers
and my chest piece is in the process guns brass knuckles a heart being shot flowers you know your typical add ins.

Now yes these all sound very masculine but i am quite the feminine heavy metal rocker girl! you would have to see me and meet me to get it!
